The Evidence Custodian is responsible for logging in and maintaining evidence as it pertains to the prosecution of crimes. His responsibilities include ensuring that evidence is delivered to the appropriate testing facility and placed back into evidence to be presented to the courts. Additionally he composes motions and orders presented to the district attorney’s office and the court for the disposal or release of evidence once it is no longer needed in any legal proceeding.
The Records Custodian is responsible for the safe keeping of all records to include but not limited to case reports, accident reports, and offense reports. He will coordinate with the Secretary of State’s Office for the destruction or archiving of outdated files.
RECORDS SERVICES AND FEES

All services can be rendered from
8am to 4pm Monday-Friday
Offense reports are $7.00 and the person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
Crash reports are $7.00 and the person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
Background checks are $15.00 and the person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
Fingerprints are $10.00 and the person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
Bar cards are $25.00 and the person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
(this is a 2-3 day process before it is issued)
ID cards are $10.00 and the person must have an original or certified copy of their birth certificate. If it’s for a female and she goes by a married last name, an original or certified copy of the marriage certificate is ALSO required to put the ID on the married last name. IDs are free for children under 10 yrs. of age and for adults over 60 yrs. of age
Concealed handgun permits are $25.00 and the person must have a valid ID or driver’s license
(this is a 2-3 day process before it is issued)
Sex offender registration is $60.00 and person must have a valid photo ID or driver’s license
Handgun registration is free and must have unloaded, packaged weapon with them
