HOW DO I
FILE A COMPLAINT
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department main priorities are to serve and protect the citizens and visitors of St. Landry Parish.
The method for filing a complaint is the complainant either calls or come into the Sheriff’s Office. The communication section will take their information; a deputy is then called to meet with the complainant either at the office or where the complainant is located. The deputy will take all information that is available such as statements and the collection of any evidence that is present. If the responding deputy is unable to complete the case, the case is then forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office is proud to respond to any extra patrol request for homes, neighborhoods and businesses. Subject to the limitations of manpower, we will attempt to honor all requests; however, responding to calls through our 911 switchboard will always remain our top priority. If you know that you will be out for a long period of time, please let us know the dates that you would like extra patrol and we will be glad to accommodate your request.
